The Hand on the Wall | A YA Book Review

The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson

5/5

This series is one of my favorites. I read them as each book came out, but think I would have enjoyed it even more binging it! One of my favorite aspects of this story is the periodic 1930s narration of what happened regarding Alice Ellingham. While, the Ellingham whodunit is solved in book two, I feel that the motive was established in the third book. I loved the classic whodunit in the end of this, where all the present day suspects were gathered. I did solve it before the reveal (I feel mystery authors try to establish a red herring to mislead you, so I always go the opposite). But it was still fun. The ending also provided closure for all the various story threads, both past and present. If you like the Charlotte Holmes books, I think you'd also enjoy these.
